If you are a fresher, you can focus more on your achievements, hobbies, projects, and a strong summary which will explain how passionate you are about your career and how you can contribute to the development of the company’s business.

You will find plenty number of resume formats online. You can either choose a format from there right or you can use MS Word to create your own desired style. One thing to remember is that even if you are comfortable with MS Word, it is best to not send the word format resume to the recruiter. You should convert that word file into PDF format before sharing it with anyone. The reason behind this is that, when you share the word file, there are chances that the format gets changed or the content gets misplaced or the file may get corrupted.

Also, do your research before choosing a template from a website. A template is varied in every profession and experience. You can make your resume 2 pages long if you are fresher or have up to 5 years of work experience.

What are the various doubts you may have while creating your resume?

Many people wonder whether or not, they should add their pictures in their resume. And the second most common dilemma is whether or not should one attach a cover letter. It is not mandatory to add a photo to your resume. In some templates, you will find the option to add your picture, and in others, it will be missing.

Similarly, adding a cover letter in your email attachment while applying for a job can be an added advantage, but it is not mandatory. If you are applying for employment abroad, you should have a cover letter and a picture, for authenticity.

Before sending your resume for a job, carefully go through the job description and pick up some keywords and skills that the employer is looking for, in a candidate. Then add those keywords to your resume so that, when they review 100 or 1000 of resumes, your profile will pop-up based on those keywords. But don’t pick skills that are not true to your experience, e.g. a job description requires Salesforce knowledge as a skill, but you don’t have any knowledge about it so, you should refrain from mentioning it as a skill.

It is best to make your resume very simple and straightforward because recruiters have a short amount of time to review each resume. Each section of your resume should be short and crisp. It is best to mention all information in bullet points as they are easier to grasp.

Writing a good resume might seem like a daunting task but, if you follow these guidelines and provide authentic information, you can be positive that you will be one of the top applicants, provided that your skillset matches the required skills.
